Embrace the magic of the changing seasons

We've officially reached the last quarter of the year: the time for frantically looking at your calendar and wondering: 'where has all the time gone??'… We know, we know, as if you needed a reminder. And with apps designed by top psychologists to keep your attention on your screens for as long as possible, it's no wonder life can feel like it's running away sometimes.

So how do we slow down? How do we reconnect with the things that matter to us, and allow ourselves the space to be who and where we are?

When it comes to intentional living, we love looking to nature for inspiration. Just like us, the earth is always shifting from one season, moon cycle and weather pattern to the next. Not every season is your harvest, not every season is your moment to shine. The earth needs winter and fall, times of slowing down, reflection and space, and so do you.

With fall (or spring depending on where you are in the world) settling in for the next few months, we are inviting you to lean out of the hustle and bustle, and into the magic of the changing seasons. So, if you've been feeling lost, disconnected, or simply craving the space to slow down and ground, we have you covered. Below are rituals, practices, tips and habits for you to align with the energy of spring or fall, in mind, body, spirit and space.

RITUALS FOR FALL

The season of harvesting and shedding what no longer serves you.

Body: If you wake up before sunrise, use your Sunrise Alarm Clock to mimic the sun's morning light, or turn on all your overhead lights for a similar effect. This will let your body know it's time to wake up, so that it can release wakefulness hormones and get you going.

Mind: Take some time to journal on which habits, beliefs or ways of being you are ready to let go of. What worked for you this summer and what didn't? What are your top 5 priorities in life? Do your current time commitments align with these priorities?

Spirit: Tap into creativity! The colder weather usually means more time indoors, so use this time to play—whether it be through writing, painting, drawing, singing, or redecorating, anything counts here.

Space: It's all about the coziness this fall. Choose a spot to make your fall den, whip out your warmest blanket, start a fire (or play fire sounds in the background) and gift yourself time to rest.

RITUALS FOR SPRING

The season for setting intentions and planting the seeds you want to grow.

Body: When you can, go outside first thing to watch the sunrise and sunset, to align your circadian rhythm with the cycles of day and night, and promote better sleep.

Mind: What intentions do you have for spring? Is there a trail with your name on it? A picnic you want to plan? Journal out all your ideas, and brainstorm new habits, beliefs or ways of being you want to cultivate.

Spirit: Spend some time outdoors without distraction, and pay attention to the way nature shifts from winter to spring. How many butterflies can you count? What colors can you see?

Space: Go through your closet and find items that no longer spark joy. You can donate them, sell them or gift them to friends or family you know would love them.

Wishing you a beautiful change of seasons!
