A note from our founder

Hi, I’m Emily. I just wanted to leave my phone in another room.

Rise Centered started on my own nightstand. This is the story of how a salt lamp, three trips to Hong Kong and more than a dozen prototypes turned into the alarm clock I always wished existed.

How it started

I didn’t set out to start a company.

My husband had always used a sunrise alarm clock, and I noticed how much easier it made his mornings. I wanted the same thing: a gentle way to wake up, without screens or notifications.

But every clock I tried let me down. Some took an hour to connect to Wi-Fi. Some needed an app just to change the time, or a monthly subscription. Most looked like plastic I didn’t want next to my bed.

Then one day I looked at the pink Himalayan salt lamp on my nightstand and thought, what if that was the alarm clock?

That simple idea turned into a three-year journey. I drained my savings, flew to Hong Kong three times, and went through well over a dozen prototypes before it felt right.

In 2023 I launched on Kickstarter to see if anyone else wanted it too. The response was overwhelming.

People were craving the same thing I was: a slower, more intentional start to the day.

What we believe

Wellness isn’t about discipline. It’s about making the good habit the easy one.

01

No app, no Wi-Fi, no subscription.

Plug it in, set your alarm and you’re done. Your phone can sleep in another room.

02

Natural materials, not plastic.

Salt, stone, wood and fabric. Things that feel calm to look at, and that you’ll want on your nightstand for years.

03

One thing, done well.

A slow, 30-minute sunrise and birdsong instead of a blaring alarm. Nothing to scroll, nothing to update.

What it’s made of

Salt, stone, wood & fabric.

I wanted every part of the clock to be something you could pick up and feel. Here’s what goes into each one, and why we chose it.

Hand-carved Himalayan salt spheres

Salt

Himalayan · pink or white

Hand-carved into a sphere. Pink casts a soft amber glow; white gives brighter, more direct light.

Stone

Spanish alabaster

For the Marble Edition. Translucent, with soft veining that lights up from within. Limited to 250.

Wood

Solid beech & walnut

A solid wood base, in natural beech or seasonal walnut.

The clock's fabric front with the display turned off

Fabric

Woven front

The display sits behind fabric and turns fully off at night, so it reads as an object, not a gadget.

No two are alike

Every sphere is carved by hand from a single block. Lines, color and veining are part of the material, not flaws.

Made to last

Built to be kept, not replaced.
