Why We Love Himalayan Salt

Hey Rise Centered Community,

A few weeks ago, our Sunrise Alarm Clock was restocked, along with a new pink color option! To celebrate, we're answering your questions on Himalayan salt: Why is some pink and some white? What makes Himalayan salt different to other forms of salt? And why do we love it so much?

The Lowdown on Himalayan Salt

Himalayan salt is an ancient form of sodium chloride, minimally processed and free from the fillers typically found in salt. White Himalayan salt has fewer trace minerals, while pink Himalayan salt has a higher mineral content, including iron oxide, giving it its color.

 Why We Love It

Himalayan salt lamps aren't widely studied (yet), but they have been associated with reduced stress and increased relaxation due to their low-light brightness. Low-light levels signal to the brain it's time to relax and rest. Anecdotal evidence also suggests Himalayan salt lamps may absorb pollutants and pollen from the air, and reduce electro-magnetic frequencies (EMFs).

Why? Its salt crystals have microscopic pores which pull in water vapors and cause the salt to dissolve, also known as ‘sweating’. The good news is, our clocks are designed with a heating mechanism that prevents sweating from damaging your clock.

We are so excited to be able to share our pink clock, and the restock of our white clock with you. Want to secure yours? Click here.

In support of your wellness journey,

The Rise Centered Team
